BITCHIN

UI DESIGN / BRANDING

This is a collaborative project with my peer, Devon Elliot. We worked together to create a branding system for a surf and skate shop called Bitchin' Boards and Apparel, located in Jupiter Florida. We decided to tie visual elements from the deep sea and space, due to the town's planetary namesake. We created the brand identity, a variety of merchandise, and a poster promoting a skateboard competition hosted by the shop.

LOGO DESIGN

Typography

For the logo we chose Sneakers Pro and manipulated certain letterforms to match the edgy vibe of the brand. We felt this typeface had elements of both surf and skate. We also choose a secondary typeface, Korolev Compressed, for smaller bits of text.

Graphic Elements

In our secondary logo, we condensed the name of the store to Bchn' and made the apostrophe a star to continue the space theme. We made a third variation that features the pink and green circles and blue ring. This also became the brand mascot because of its resemblance to a face. We named the mascot Hubble and later involved him in other illustrative assets.

Colors

We chose to use teal, lime green and pink. We wanted the colors to be vibrant and pop against the black and other darker colors used within the branding.

MERCHANDISE DESIGN

POSTER AND STICKER DESIGN

I created a user flow in Figma to demonstrate how a user may travel through the app. I illustrated all possible avenues of a user, to ensure my UI design for BusyBee was intuitive and easy for people to navigate.
